Did you picture him as Vicar drew him? Oh, this "thanks" has now turned into a interview, sorry about that, but it really would make my day if you answer them. Thanks!
His Danish name is Slaphans Papand, but the name used in my script is Slackjaw Snorehead. (These days all Egmont scripts are written in English.) The character came about because Egmont asked me to write a story marking Flintheart Glomgold's 50th anniversary. Since we at the time never had seen a birthday party for Flintheart, I felt that should be part of the story. I also wanted to bring in whatever Flintheart-related elements I could find in old stories -- especially relatives of his.
Well, the only relative I could find was Flinty's grandfather from ++5952">http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c++5952 , and I simply couldn't find a way to fit him into the story. And I couldn't really find any other memorable Flintheart-related elements. So instead I looked at the Scrooge-Donald dynamic and decided to make a Flintheart parallel. A dynamic that was mostly dysfunctional, as opposed to the mostly functional Scrooge-Donald dynamic. Slackjaw was designed to be exactly the kind of guy that would annoy Flinty the most: a slacker where Flinty is a hard worker, friendly where Flinty is tough as nails etc. In my script, I wrote: "At the front door stands a smiling likable male duck Donald's age, who -- judging by his appearance -- is a first-rate slacker. (Perhaps he has long hair, sleepy eyes and wears casual clothes?)" Through Egmont, Vicar sent me a colour sketch of how he envisioned Slackjaw, and I immediately agreed to the design. While writing, I only had a vague idea of how Slackjaw should look, but as you can tell from the published story Vicar's design hits all the right spots. (Thanks to a motherboard meltdown, I've since lost that sketch, sadly.)
Glad to hear you like Slackjaw Snorehead, Quackberg. There's a good chance he will reappear.
Thanks for that answer! That was really interesting, I have noticed that there is two english surnames for him, Snoremore and Snorehead. The first one I came across was Snoremore, so that's the one I used, but now I now that Snorehead is the right one. I also think you did the right thing to make a relative that is the counterpart of Flintheart, that's one of the reason he has become really interesting and a fun character for me. I also think that his appearance is great, once more he's the opposite of Flintheart. Slackjaw is the Glomgold family's black sheep, I imagine.
Glad to hear that, it would be great to see him again. If you want to, I have an idea for a story you can use, but haven't thought of the "main" content that much: Scrooge McDuck is renting out a room in the money bin (don't know why, but I think you can think something out) and the one who rents the room is Slackjaw (either Scrooge don't recognize Slackjaw, that would "easy" out the story I think, and perheps draw some parallels to the Carl Barks story "The Money Champ", where Scrooge didn't recognize Flintheart at first. Barks did this as a reminder for the readers.) But in secret Slackjaw is spying for Flintheart in the money bin, because otherwise Slackjaw won't get any allowance (or somethin else). In time Scrooge and Donald finds out what he's up to, but Slackjaw then change side, because he is no villain after all.
If you want to use some of it, you are welcome! You can also change things as much as you want.
Thanks!

Maybe a story in which Flintheart and Scrooge are accusing each other of having the laziest nephew, can spawn some sort of "work contest" between the two lazy nephews, that has an important bet with important (embarrassing) stakes for Scrooge and Flinty?

Hey guys. Well - the latest backup story that I drew for Sonic the Hedghehog is out, so I figured I'd post some artwork.
The stuff here is kind of old - two pieces that I'd scrapped drawing on for various reasons. They'll remain unfinished pieces unless I can decide on whatever new thing it is that I want to do with them. The first is a collage of Mickey and the gang surrounded by a large portion of the many villains from the classic American newspaper serials/Italian continuity. I did this some time last year, but decided not to continue it.
Keep in mind that this was originally drawn in nothing but blue pencil - hence the stray pencil marks as I had not gone through a proper clean up process on it. I chose not to continue this piece largely because I didn't really think the layout through after I'd gotten to the point with Mickey and company. The center needs more than that and I did have something in mind, but anything else I'd do would really only clutter it more so...eh, this one will remain "unfinished" as far as I'm concerned.
For those that want a breakdown however...here is a handy little guide for who's who in Mickey villains. Starting from the bottom left and going up:
* Everybody knows Pegleg Pete
* Above him is Trudy Von Tubb - his girlfriend in the Italian continuity
* Sylvester Shyster - Mickey Mouse's oldest villain next to Pete himself
* Then Eli Squinch - the miser who used Mickey's elephant to power a sawmill and tried to steal Clarabelle Cow's inheritance among other things
* To the left of Squinch - the guy holding the gun is Trigger Hawkes, international counterspy
* To the immediate right of Squinch is Idgit the Midget and directly above him, the guy with the moustache is his partner Dangerous Dan - Mickey's generic gangster type villains introduced in the late 60's
* Above Trigger and Dan are Professor Doublex (left) and Professor Ecks (right)
* Above them is Professor Triplex - leader of the mad scientist trio.
* Above Triplex is an Aberzombie and next to it is its leader - Doctor Grut from Floyd Gottfredson's "Mickey Mouse and the 'Lectro Box" serial
* Above the Aberzombie and to the left is Emil Eagle the evil inventor (rival and slightly incompetent rival/nemesis to Mickey, Gyro Gearloose, and Doc Static respectively)
* To the right of him, the guy with the permed hair is The Rhyming Man
* Above Emil and the left of The Rhyming Man is Doctor Vulter - orangutan commander of the Nuclear Pirate Submarine fleet.
* Above him is Portis Plottigat, Pete's older cousin mad scientist cousin also from Italian continuity
* Above him is The Black Crow, a nemesis from another newspaper serial
* Above the crow are Drusilla - an insane and immortal woman who lives on a youth serum - and her creepy leprechaun-ish valet Jeremiah Jemson

* To the right at the bottom: of course everybody knows The Phantom Blot.
* To the left of the Blot we have Mickey Junior - Mickey Mouse's robotic duplicate from the "World of Tomorrow" serial.
* To his right is Miklos Mouse AKA The Grey Mouse AKA "Mickey's Dangerous Double"
* Above he and Miklos is Professor Doom AKA The Crooked Man. Creepy looking character.
* Just above and to the left are The Gleam (master hypnotist) and his wife was never given a name outside of Martha Mousegomery.
* Above them is Duke Varlott - the lead villain in "The Monarch of Medioka", one of Floyd Gottfredson's longest and most complex Mickey Mouse stories.
* Above Varlott and to the right is Joe Piper. To his left is Mister Dibble, his accomplice. Piper is known for his obscenely huge lips and Dibble for his Chico Marx look.
* Directly above Dibble is Kali (Hindu God of Death I think). Kali is actually a one shot villain but comes from a very well done Italian Mickey story ("Kali's Nail" - hence the focus on her fingernail in the picture) that's often remembered fondly by many people stateside. Her alterego, Richard Hogg is not pictured.
* Above Kali is Doctor Syclocks who is actually a well remembered Super Goof villain.
* To the right of Syclocks and down just a little bit (across from Kali) is Iron Mask - dictator of Mousepotamia
* Above Syclocks and to the left is The Aint King (AINT not ant)
* To the right of The Aint King is Lucius Lamb, well liked philanthropist, millionaire and leader of Mouseton's largest crime syndicate.
* Above Lucius and the king is the miniaturized Golden Goddess who is riding on her flying tiger steed Xephus.
* The Golden Goddess's staff separates Lawyer Willy Beamish and his partner in crime, the outlaw named Two-Finger Frank. Two western-type villains from the same Mickey serial.
* Above them is Atomo Bloop-Bloop, the evil counterpart to Mickey's sidekick Atomo Bleep-Bleep from the Italian continuity.
* Just above him is The Bat Bandit of Inferno Gulch, one of the early inspirations for the Phantom Blot.
* To the right of him, a generic Mekka-Man, commanded by Mickey Junior and Pegleg Pete in the "World of Tomorrow" serial.
* Above the Bat Bandit to the left is the interstellar bounty hunter who wishes to marry Goofy, Hoosat of Planet Unnlax
* And to the left of Hoosat is sorceress of the Island of Death, The Pink Princess. Her familiar Birdie is not pictured.
This picture I just plain don't like. I think it was my original attempt at trying to do the picture above, but by the time I got to Einmug (who you can see remains unfinished), Emil Eagle, and Doc Static - I'd decided that this piece just wasn't going to work.
So what do you think? Maybe I'll post some more eventually.

I was thinking about it to tell you the truth. Donald/Scrooge would be a bit harder seeing as their rogues galleries are iconic, but not as numerous and repeating as Mickey's. We've got the Beagles, Magica, Glomgold, Arpin Lusene, Emil Eagle...
And I suppose I could count the one shot villains from the many Barks, Rosa, or Van Horn stories. It'd take a lot of work and research though but I think it could be done.

It is true that Slackjaw isn't a villain even though his uncle is. I'm not worried Lady Quackly but thanks for your concern anyway. WB I'm sure you could pull off doing a rouges gallery for Donald and Scrooge as you did for Mickey. Maybe you can just do the primary villains if you think it would be easier.

I have now sent my first HDL and my first Mickey Mouse story to Egmont.
The stories keep piling up in my head and I have now started sketching my

Here is the first page (remember, this is just a sketch):

Forgive me if the details have already been given, VoBo, but are these stories you are submitting for consideration, or the final art after receiving Egmont's approval of your script (and portfolio)?
- Jonathan -
I had a rough idea for a drawing of the main Barks villains years ago, but never got around to do it-- the number one reason being I was not skilled enough, and needed to learn how to draw the characters well enough. And then... nothing.
I must have the thumbsketch of the layout somewhere in a book.

They are only for consideration so far, Olivier. But I cross my fingers!

All my best wishes for your success, VoBo!
Jonathan, I have finally read the list: who is the character above Mickey Junior (towards whom Mickey's double is looking-- almost)?
Apart from a few instances stylistic traits I do not quite like (the over-dynamic way the nephews and Mickey are posed in the second drawing, plus the Phantom Blot's silhouette), I really love these drawings, and have only one criticism regarding one of the characters: Professor Triplex is just not as well done and recognizable as all the others (such as Ecks & Doublecks, for that matter).
I think this first drawing could be made into a nice cover or poster/pin-up. Text or more characters in the center (friends) would help complete it-- the idea of the villains in the margin works well.
